Craig Van Batenburg, CEO of ACDC (www.fixhybrid.com) who is a 10 year veteran of hybrid car service, training and technical writer, will speak at the Electronics & Mechatronics Clinic in Las Vegas during the APRA International BIG R Show on November 1, 2010.
Batenburg who conducts training classes internationally for the aftermarket and is considered to be a leader in the high voltage electrification of vehicles will speak about “Regenerative Braking,” which is the term for how hybrid and electric cars capture kinetic energy when they slow down and store it in a high voltage battery pack. He will also talk about what the charging system looks like in hybrid and electrical cars.
Fernand Weiland, Co-chairman of the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association’s (APRA) Electronics & Mechatronics Division stated, “The future of hybrid vehicles offers great opportunities for remanufacturers who are prepared to learn and familiarize themselves with the new technologies. Hybrid and future electrical powertrains will dramatically change vehicles to the extent that only remanufacturers who are embracing these changes will continue to enjoy a sustainable business.”
Bill Gager, APRA President added, “We are very pleased to have Craig speak once again to our group. He is a leader in this field of training and will provide our members with a great deal of insight into these new opportunities.”
