Meeting, Networking, Socializing ...
...or: why the European APRA Event in Budapest was important and effective for visitors and exhibitors

by Gregor Schlingschröder, CEO of COEmarketing GmbH, GERMANY and communication manager of APRA in Europe

The Budapest Exhibition and Symposium 2010 attracted more than 350 professionals of the reman business from all over the world. It brought together companies and people from the remanufacturing industry, component and core suppliers, service organizations, universities etc.
It was the exchange of knowledge and ideas, of selling and purchasing between professional people in the remanufacturing business, which made also this APRA event in Budapest so successful.
Exhibitor’s had the opportunity to meet customers and interested parties. Not only while the exhibition took place. I saw many people sitting together in the diverse hotel restaurants and coffee bars talking and socializing. Business took place!
This small and attractive exhibition, combined with the Symposium where professional speakers bring know-how and expertise forward and such very interesting plant tour, is a must for everybody who is in the reman business.
Furthermore this APRA Event was another milestone in opening up the association towards “new” remanufacturing companies in Eastern Europe and Asia. For everyone in the business who is not an APRA member yet: take your opportunities to be a part of a living association.
In meanwhile mark your calendar for 2012 and make sure that you will not miss the next APRA Event. Join us there. Be a part of meeting, networking and socializing.

Compressor remanufacturers need to know the vehicular issues surrounding their compressors and all the things that can go wrong with the vehicle or environment that generate warranty returns. Many auto specific and environment issues can create a set of circumstances that will appear as a compressor failure, when in actuality the compressor was the victim of unusual, but real circumstances.

Dr. Carsten Bücker- BU Drive. Germany
The turbocharger is one of the fastest growing products in the aftermarket. The increased share of turbocharged engines for both diesel and gasoline will offer long term market potential. Apart from new turbos, there is also a demand for remanufactured ones. Because the turbo is one of the most stressed components of the engine due to temperature, exhaust gas and dynamic impacts (up to 300,000 rpm at full throttle), precision during remanufacturing is essential for product quality. Dr. Bücker focused on the technological as well as the quality assurance related processes for remanufacturing turbos. He also discussed the required damage analysis, which is necessary to analyze the cause of fault.
